Age categories
- Pre-Competitive — 8–11 years old
- Junior — 12–14 years old
- Senior — 15–20 years old
Levels
Pre-competitive — Three competitive age divisions, no recreational track. The Pre-Competitive division has a restricted repertoire list and allows choreography to be adapted to the dancer's technical level.
Variations
- Repertoire — A classical repertoire variation from the approved list for your division, at any age · 8–20 years old
- Free — Contemporary solo — compulsory at the finals for Juniors and Seniors · 8–20 years old
A classical repertoire variation from the list for each division, 2:30 maximum, plus a 2:00 contemporary solo.
Masterclasses. Included and free, optional, with no effect on scores.
Jury. Not published for 2027 — YAGP only announces its panels shortly before each round. US panels usually bring together North American school and company directors.
What you can win. Qualification for the Tampa finals from 96/100 in classical. Scholarships awarded by partner schools, sometimes as early as the semi-final.
Worth knowing. This is the heart of the YAGP circuit, with the most rounds and the deepest fields. Fees are in dollars and higher than in Europe.
