- Pre-Competitive — 8–11 years old
- Junior — 12–14 years old
- Senior — 15–20 years old
Levels
Pre-competitive — YAGP has no recreational division — only three competitive age divisions. The Pre-Competitive division has a restricted repertoire list and allows choreography to be adapted to the dancer's technical level.

- Repertoire — A classical repertoire variation from the approved list for your division, at any age · 8–20 years old
- Free — Contemporary solo — compulsory at the finals for Juniors and Seniors · 8–20 years old
A classical repertoire variation from the approved list for each division, 2:30 maximum. Contemporary solo 2:00, or 2:30 for an extra $20. La Fille du Pharaon is strictly banned in Junior.
Masterclasses. Included and free, optional, with no effect on scores. In 2025 they were held at the Paris Opera Ballet School.
Jury. Not published for 2027. In 2026: Élisabeth Platel, Frédéric Olivieri, Ernst Meisner, Jason Beechey, Paola Cantalupo, Amanda Britton, Andrey Klemm, Paola Vismara, Claire Baulieu, and founders Larissa and Gennadi Saveliev.
What you can win. Finals qualification from 96/100 in classical, with wildcards possible. Youth Grand Prix Award for the Junior division — you must enter both classical and contemporary to be eligible. Scholarships are awarded by partner schools, sometimes at the semi-final and without a medal.
Worth knowing. The masterclasses are free and score-neutral, but that is where school directors watch. One rule to know: you cannot take podium places in more than one YAGP city.
