Levels
Recreational · Pre-competitive — The Espoir-to-Supérieur categories are open to everyone (free variation). A dedicated Pre-professional category exists from age 15.
Variations
- Free — Every individual category — free variation, 1:15 to 1:45 · 6–25 years old
- Repertoire — Pre-professional category only — exclusive ballet list · 15–25 years old
Free variation everywhere — repertoire is forbidden in the Espoir-to-Supérieur categories. Pre-professional (15+): two compulsory variations, one from repertoire (exclusive ballet list; two La Bayadère variations excluded) + one free in any style. Presenting other competitions’ set variations is forbidden.
Masterclasses. Not mentioned in the 2027 rulebook.
Jury. Recognised personalities from the dance world; decisions are final. Honorary president: Karin Averty.
What you can win. Numerous cash prizes, trophies, workshop places and dance goods.
Worth knowing. New for 2027: online registration and payment (Yapla platform). Dress code: pastel tunic (girls), grey tights and white top (boys); costume compulsory from Avancé up. Duo and group categories too (classical and other styles). Public competition, free entry for candidates and teachers.
