Levels
Recreational · Pre-competitive — An explicit, checkable hours criterion: Amateur up to 3 classes a week, Supérieur 4 to 5 classes or conservatoire student, Pre-professional 6 or more classes or a timetabled programme.
Variations
- Free — Personal, one-off variations, at every level · 8–30 years old
Personal, one-off variations. Repertoire costumes are allowed in classical solos. Going more than 15 seconds over time means disqualification.
Masterclasses. National and international masterclasses are offered as prizes.
Jury. Not published, including for previous editions. The jury may reclassify a candidate by style or level. 16/20 is a first prize, 18 earns jury commendation.
What you can win. City of Valence Prize and a one-year scholarship to the École de Danse Olivier Coste for one solo winner. Residencies and creation grants for groups.
Worth knowing. Affordable, with tracks defined by an objective criterion, and a one-year scholarship at stake. Timing is strictly enforced.
