Age categories
- Primary — 9–11 years old
- Junior — 12–14 years old
- Senior — 15–21 years old
Levels
Pre-competitive — A strictly pre-professional competition with a single track. Professionals are excluded. Studio Company and Trainee positions are allowed, Apprentices are not.
Variations
- Set variation — First round: a set variation learned on the spot · 9–21 years old
- Repertoire — Second and third rounds, from a set list · 9–21 years old
- Free — A prepared contemporary solo · 9–21 years old
Three rounds: a graded technique class and a set variation learned on the spot, then a prepared contemporary and classical piece, then a third variation before a fresh jury. Pointe work banned at 9-10, compulsory from 12.
Masterclasses. Included — daily masterclasses during competition week, also accessible remotely.
Jury. Not published for 2027, and previous editions have not named their panels either.
What you can win. A scholarship network reporting 175 to 250 awards on average. Around 325 soloists are invited to the Florida finals.
Worth knowing. Three ways in: an in-person semi-final, a video application, or a fully virtual phase. Berlin is the only European round.
